ITHANGA SECONDARY SCHOOL

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 The land on which the school is built was issued by the lands and settlement officer to the catholic Diocese of Murang’a in 1968.

The size is 27 acres which is approximately 11 hectares.A church was constructed on the land back in 1971 under Kitito Catholic Parish,a nursery school building and catechist’s house were constructed at the same time with the church.

The school is purely academic offering K.C.S.E Exam. It has however produced good personalities in sports such as Lucy Njeri Chege, Volleyball player for Kenya Pipeline, Educationists,journalist and Broadcasters such as-

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION

The School is located in Thika Distict in central Province,Kakuzi Division,Ithanga Location. This is a hardship area which is dry and very productive. it is situated around 42km from Thika town. From Thika town, one drives for 30 k.m. From Gati-Iguru,one branches into an earth road on the left side off Garissa Highway.a journey of around 10km.From a trading centre called ’junction’ it is situated 1.5km from the road.
